We Are Dedicated To Helping The Community
We are a small team of hard-working individuals ready and dedicated to helping the Toowoomba City community. We are made up of two qualified general practitioners, practice manager, practice nurse and four medical administrative officers. We recognise that every patient and their family are different, with their own unique needs. Our goal is to design an individual treatment plan to help each and every one of our patients to achieve the best possible outcome.
As a patient of our practice, you can expect to be greeted with a caring and professional attitude by our entire staff. You will get the doctor’s undivided attention during your appointment. Doctors will work with your other health specialists to create a coordinated plan. Along with our practice manager and medical administration staff, we will be responsive to your concerns and calls

Our Doctors

Dr Graham Michael
General Practitioner, MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Michael is a graduate of the University of Queensland and has been practising medicine for over four decades. He began his career in private practice on the Darling Downs in the early 1980s and has since built an extensive and respected career in rural and remote medicine, serving communities across Australia through a wide range of locum roles.
His professional interests include the management of chronic disease, aged care, dementia, and skin cancer. Dr Michael is known for his comprehensive and compassionate approach to patient care, particularly in underserved areas where continuity and accessibility are essential.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys walking, model rocketry, and working with electronics, reflecting a lifelong curiosity and hands-on enthusiasm for science and technology.

Dr Bryan Woo
General Practitioner, MBBS
We welcome Dr Bryan Woo to Hooper Medical Centre. Dr Woo brings to the team a wealth of knowledge and passion.
A dedicated General Practitioner with years of experience providing comprehensive primary care, skilled in diagnosing and managing a diverse range of medical conditions while fostering strong patient relationships through open communication and a patient-centred approach.

Dr. Jodi Dennis
General Practitioner, MBBS, FRACGP
Jodi was born in Darwin and grew up in rural Central Queensland. She attended University in Brisbane and graduated from UQ Medical School in 2004. Jodi worked for a number of years in South East Queensland hospitals with special interest in Orthopaedics. She undertook her general practice training in Tamworth and Inverell and obtained her RACGP fellowship in 2017. Jodi aims to provide holistic patient-focused care and has a special interest in orthopaedic problems, women’s health , travel medicine, and minor skin procedures.

Dr Upeksha Dasanayaka
General Practitioner, MBBS
Dr Upeksha completed her medical degree in Russia 2014. She has extensive experience in Emergency medicine, paediatric, women health in Russia, Sri Lanka and Australia.
After moving to Australia, Dr Upeksha worked in a variety of subspecialties including O&G, Paediatric, Emergency Medicine, Surgery and general medicine. She has worked in many emergency departments including Royal Darwin Hospital, Ipswich Hospital and Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Apart from medicine Dr Upeksha enjoys engaging with sports, reading and spending time with her family.

Dr Jiong Wu
General Practitioner, MBBS
Dr Jiong Wu completed his medical degree in the UK in 2015. He has extensive experience in emergency medicine in both UK and Australia. He moved to Toowoomba in 2021 and started his GP training. He has a special interest in chronic disease management, preventative health and minor procedures. His personal hobbies include bushwalking, cooking and reading.

Dr David Simpson
General Practitioner, MBBS
Dr David Simpson has been a general practitioner for over forty years. He commenced practice at Pittsworth in 1978 and moved to Toowoomba over thirty years ago. He has special interests in refugee medicine, acupuncture, and skin cancer check. His personal hobbies include bushwalking, farming, horse breeding and winemaking.
